With lyrics that combine insight, tale and a rich tapestry of characters - Matt Kemp is an enchanting singer/songwriter who leads with warm expressive vocals, percussion and an exciting blend of picked, melodic and fiery rhythm guitar.
Matt moves through many different musical terrains at his concerts and his performances are always heartfelt, passionate and always full of surprises.
As well as touring as a solo artist across the East of America and Europe, Matt’s musical journey has taken in a diverse range of acts including Brighton based percussion outfit ‘The Engine room’ who won best band at Notting Hill in 2004, and more recently as the energy and drive behind indie/folk act ‘Nimomashtic’, who over the last year and a half have walked 1200 miles and played 50 concerts across the UK as they sought to raise awareness about climate change.
Featured on BBC national radio and TV, the ‘Walk your talk’ tours were a great success and their aim was to highlight environmental issues and inspire individuals to make little adjustments to their lifestyles that can help reduce the effect of global warming.
Currently working on a new solo album titled 'A Postcard from still waters' and collaborating with other musicians , a live set from Matt features songs from his own rich musical history and cover songs from artists such as Nina simone, Jeff buckley, George Micheal , Faith no More , Johnny Cash, & Portishead.
